Apple unveiled the AirPods Pro yesterday without much of a fanfare. Apple’s latest true wireless earbud comes with active noise cancellation and ear tips of different sizes. The AirPods Pro is priced at $249 and as expected the repair/replacement cost has gone up with AirPods Pro.
The AirPods Pro costs $50 more than the normal AirPods. Which to be honest is not much, especially since AirPods Pro packs in noise cancellation and other new features. The replacement costs have also gone up considerably as opposed to the AirPods 2. Each AirPods Pro earbud will cost $89 to replace and so does the wireless charging case. The same service costs between $59 to $69 for AirPods 2.
If you buy a new pair of AirPods Pro be sure to keep good care of it. Replacements are relatively expensive. In some cases, you will be better off buying new AirPods Pro instead of replacing or repairing the current ones. That being said, your AirPods Pro will be covered by manufacturing warranty for the first year.

Thankfully Apple has recently extended AppleCare+ for AirPods, Beats earphones and Beats headphones. It extends your warranty coverage to two years and also covers two instances of accidental damage coverage at $29. In other words, the Apple Care+ for AirPods Pro is an absolute no-brainer.
