If you are a developer who has purchased an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, or iPhone 11 Pro Max for development purposes, the first thing you will need to do is find out its UDID so that you can register it on the Apple Developer Portal. The good thing is that this can be done without using iTunes or even a PC.
It is important for a developer to register their device on Apple’s developer portal as without it, the device won’t get beta iOS updates and they won’t be able to test their apps on it. There are two ways to find the developer UDID of your iPhone. One requires that you connect it to your Mac while the other one relies on installing a system profile on your iPhone and does not need a PC. The former is the official way while the second method has been developed by the community. None of the methods involved, however, require iTunes which was used for finding UDID on older iPhones.
How to Find UDID of iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro on Mac Without iTunes
Step 1: Connect the iPhone to your Mac.
Step 2: Click the Apple logo () located on the top-left of the menu bar and select the About this Mac option.
Step 3: Click System Report followed by USB.
Step 4 Under the USB 3.0 Bus, you should see all the USB devices attached to your Mac including your iPhone.
Step 5: Select your iPhone from the USB list. From the bottom part of the window, copy the value next to the Serial Number label. Paste this value in Notes or any other note-taking app of your choice. You will then need to add a ‘-‘ after the eighth digit in the serial number.
So, if your iPhone’s serial number is 123456789ABCD, it will become something like this: 12345678-9ABCD.
