Like every year, Apple has once again announced that App Store will not accept submissions by developers during holidays. The company suggests that developers should plan new app submissions and updates by keeping in mind the holidays.
Apple has announced the 2019 App Store Connect schedule via a post on the developer site.
The busiest season on the App Store is almost here. Make sure your apps are up to date and ready for the holidays. New apps and app updates will not be accepted December 23 to 27 (Pacific Time), so any releases should be scheduled, submitted, and approved in advance. Other App Store Connect and developer account features will remain available.
Recently Apple had extended its App Store Connect server-to-server notifications for developers. Server-to-Server notification service is offered for auto-renewable subscriptions. Typically, the App Store Connect sends notifications to your server and thus informs you about real-time changes to a subscription status. After enabling the Subscription Status URL, you will automatically start receiving server notifications on your secure server.
We do understand that things should be put to hold during the holiday seasons. However, it seems prudent that App Updates are not accepted for three days. A situation like this is something criminals will be waiting to exploit. What if an app needs to be patched with security updates during the downtime?
