Apple yesterday released the iOS 13.3 update for all compatible iPhones. The update primarily focused on fixing a number of bugs while also enhancing some of the existing features. iOS 13.3 is the last major point release of the OS for this year. How does this release of the OS compare to iOS 13.2.3 in terms of performance?
Apple was once notorious for slowing down older iPhones with software updates. However, since the release of iOS 12, we have seen that the company has managed to maintain the same performance across its devices despite adding new features to them with regular updates.
For iOS 13.3, we see a similar trend. Despite adding some minor new features and fixing underlying bugs, the overall performance of the OS is the same when compared to iOS 13.2.3. The test was performed by YouTuber iAppleBytes across a bunch of iPhones including the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, iPhone 8, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11.
The performance of all iPhones in the test was more or less the same, be it in benchmarks or in opening apps. The iPhone 11’s Geekbench score did drop by a larger margin while running iOS 13.3 but its overall performance was similar to what it was when running iOS 13.2.3.
iOS 13.3 comes with Communication Limits for Screen Time, the ability to disable Memoji suggestions in the Emoji keyboard, and more. You can find an exhaustive list of all the changes and new features in iOS 13.3 here.
