Apple yesterday released the second beta of macOS 10.15.4. Among other things, the beta updates the Apple Music app in the OS to add support for time-synced lyrics.
While the Apple Music app had lyrics support, it did not display them in real-time. This feature was first debuted by Apple in iOS 13 on the iPhone and iPad. Apple is now finally getting around to bringing this feature to the desktop version of the Apple Music app as well. The feature is also mentioned by Apple in the official release notes of macOS Catalina 10.15.4.
To access the real-time lyrics of a song, one needs to click on the speech bubble located on the top-right corner. The lyrics of the song will automatically scroll through as the music is playing. Do note that real-time lyrics will only show up selected songs even if lyric information is available for those songs.
The real-time lyrics feature in the Apple Music app will be available to Mac users when the final release of macOS 10.15.4 Catalina is released to them. This will probably happen towards the end of March when Apple is expected to hold a media event to announce the iPhone 9 and possibly a 13-inch MacBook Pro refresh.[Via 9to5Mac]
