Apple has launched a repair program for the third-generation iPad Air which it had announced last year. The company notes that due to a bug, the screen on the iPad Air 3 can suddenly go blank and permanently remain in that state.
The issue affects only a selected number of iPad Air 3 units sold between March 2019 and October 2019.
Apple has determined that, under certain circumstances, the screen on a limited number of iPad Air (3rd generation) devices may go blank permanently. A brief flicker or flash may appear before the screen goes blank.
If you own an iPad Air 3 with a similar issue, you can take it to your nearest Apple Store or Apple Authorized Store and get it repaired for free. Do note that if your iPad Air has a cracked screen, it will need to be fixed first before Apple can fix the display issue. Customers will have to pay from their pockets for any other display repair.
The repair program will cover iPad Air 3 models for two years from the date they were first sold. The repair program is available worldwide for iPad Air 3 owners.[Via Apple]
