iOS 13.4.5 Brings Ability to Share Songs from Apple Music on Instagram Stories

Share Apple Music Songs On Instagram Stories

Apple released the first developer beta build of iOS 13.4.5 and iPadOS 13.4.5 a few hours ago, and the changelog had mentioned that the minor software update brings bug fixes and stability improvements to iPhones and iPads. However, it has now been revealed that it also introduces a new feature in Apple Music that makes it easier to share songs on Instagram.

The first developer beta of iOS 13.4.5 brings an ability to share songs from Apple Music to Instagram stories. This feature is similar to how Spotify or SoundCloud works with the Stories feature on Instagram. Since Instagram stories can be cross-posted to Facebook, users can share the songs that they’re currently listening to on Facebook stories as well.

Earlier, it was only possible for users to share music from Apple Music to Instagram or Facebook using third-party apps. However, Apple has now brought the ability as a native feature. iPhone users running iOS 13.4.5 can simply open the Apple Music app, play the song they like, tap the share option, and choose Instagram from the share sheet.

When this new feature is used, a vertical image is created featuring the album art, the name of the song, Apple Music’s logo, and an animated blurred background. The image is shared along with the song on Instagram stories. Whoever watches the story will be able to click the album art to go to the Apple Music app on Android or iOS to play the same song.

The iOS 13.4.5 update is only available for registered developers right now, but we expect it to be released in the public beta form sometime next week. Last week, Apple had released the stable version of iPadOS 13.4 and iOS 13.4 updates to iPads and iPhones.

If you’re someone who likes to try out new features earlier than others, you would need to register your iPad or iPhone to beta test newer versions of iPadOS and iOS by installing an appropriate software configuration profile.
