Logitech has announced a new keyboard case for the iPad and the iPad Air. It combines a tenkeyless keyboard, a multitouch trackpad, a place to store the Apple Pencil, and a kickstand in a compact form factor. It is now listed on Apple’s website.
Hot on the heels of the introduction of the brand new 11-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pros with triple-camera setups, Logitech has announced its new keyboard case for the iPad and the iPad Air. Its new accessory features a backlit keyboard, complete with shortcuts for quick actions, and a multitouch glass trackpad.
Priced at $149.95, the Logitech Combo Touch Keyboard Case with Trackpad for iPad also comes with a cavity to store the Apple Pencil (or a Logitech Crayon stylus). There’s also a kickstand on the rear with a 50-degree tilt. It features four modes: reading mode, sketch easel mode, stand mode, and typing mode. It connects to the iPad using the Smart Connector for power and data, and it can be detached when necessary.
The keyboard case fully supports rich mice and trackpad features that were announced today as a part of the iPadOS 13.4 update. It costs half of what Apple’s official keyboard for the iPad costs, and definitely offers more value. The accessory is not available for purchase as of now. Shipping and availability information is not mentioned on the website.
If you don’t want to spend your hard-earned money on an accessory but still want to use a keyboard and a mouse or trackpad with your iPad, you can pair a Magic Keyboard or a Magic Mouse via Bluetooth. Pretty much all third-party Bluetooth wireless keyboards and mice are supported as well. However, you would first need to update the iPad to iPadOS 13.4.
