The Apple Watch Series 3 is finally official with Apple taking the wraps off the new cellular clad wearable at its event today. The company also announced some of the new bands that will be available for purchase including a new “Sport Loop” band to complement the two new finishes – Blush Gold and a new Ceramic Dark Gray variant.
Rumor had it that Apple was planning on introducing an Apple Watch model with built-in cellular connectivity, and, sure enough, that is indeed the case.
Apple is reportedly working with the Standford and American Well on a project which will allow the Apple Watch to detect abnormal heart rhythms.The Cupertino company wants to achieve this using the heart rate sensor in the Apple Watch itself.
Verizon accidentally confirmed the arrival of the Apple Watch Series 3 on its app over the weekend. This error appeared very briefly on the My Verizon app before the carrier took it down. The app listed the Apple Watch Series 3 under the configuration page which is used to add a new device to a Verizon account.
In a couple of days from now, Apple will be holding an event on September 12 at the Steve Jobs theater where it will be unveiling a trio of new iPhones and announce the release date of iOS 11.
