There are new iPhones going to be announced soon, probably in September, and the HomePod –Apple’s new smart speaker set to launch in December– has been a bastion of information regarding the upcoming handsets.
Another day, another revelation discovered within the firmware for Apple’s upcoming smart speaker, the HomePod.
While Apple showcased iOS 11 earlier this year, and even debuted the HomePod, talk about the iPhone 8 and its features are still a ways off.
Apple released firmware for the upcoming HomePod late last week, well ahead of the smart speaker’s arrival in December, and, since then, key details have been finding their way online, both for the HomePod and even the iPhone 8.
Earlier this year, Apple officially announced its newest product: A smart speaker called HomePod. And while the company announced plenty of details, there are still some unanswered questions.
As per a report by Engadget, Amazon is prepping the release of a new version of the Echo, more in line with the Apple HomePod. Although the HomePod isn’t slated to arrive until later this year, Amazon could perhaps beat Apple to the punch with the new Echo.
Tim Cook finally revealed Apple’s answer to Amazon’s Echo, which has been credited with creating the category for smart home speakers.
Apple’s WWDC event was filled with a bunch of key announcements, including the unveiling of iOS 11 and all the new features that it brings to the fore. Apple also had a couple of hardware announcements which received the usual wave of commendation on social media. However, the company’s new Siri-powered smart speaker, known as the HomePod, was ridiculed almost immediately after its launch.
With plenty to announce at this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference keynote, Apple took some time to unveil its newest device to its lineup, a smart speaker.
