When we writing the post about JailbreakMe.com being sold to an unknown entity, we wondered why Jay Freeman a.k.a saurik – founder of Cydia hadn’t bought the domain.
As it turns out, we were quite late in reporting the news as saurik is indeed the new owner of the JailbreakMe.com domain, as the person who had initially bought it from ConceitedApps was kind enough to transfer it to Saurik.

MuscleNerd, member of the iPhone Dev Team has tweeted that the domain – JailbreakMe.com, which used to host JailbreakMe – an extremely popular jailbreak tool has been “underhandedly” sold.
This news comes after Comex – developer of the popular jailbreak tool joined Apple as an intern recently.

Apple had released iOS 4.3.4 to fix the vulnerability used by JailbreakMe 3.0, which was one of the easiest solutions to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Comex had also released a patch called PDF Patcher 2 on Cydia to fix the vulnerability associated with viewing malicious PDF files.
It was meant for users you didn’t want to upgrade to iOS 4.3.4, but also didn’t want to be exposed to the security vulnerability.
iPhone Dev team released Redsn0w 0.9.8b3 for iOS 4.3.4 to jailbreak iPhone, iPadand iPod Touch.
But it supports only a tethered jailbreak, which means that you need to connect your iOS device to the computer on every reboot.
Comex has released a fix for the Camera connection kit issue for iPad users and to also address the bug that causes Verizon iPhones to get stuck at the Apple logo.
The fix for the camera connection kit issue is available via Cydia, while Comex has provided couple of options to address the bug reported by Verizon iPhone users.

As we wait for Comex to release the official version of JailbreakMe, Ryan Vanniekerk – co-founder of a web-based SERP tracker called SEscout has figured out a way to successfully jailbreak his iPad 2 using the files that were leaked out couple of days back.
