The first reviews of Samsung’s flagship smartphones for 2016, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, were published earlier today. The handsets will take on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus from Apple for the next six months.

Apple’s A9 processor did incredibly well to outperform rival chipsets from the likes of Samsung and Kirin last year, despite sticking to a dual-core architecture while others are using as many as eight. But three months into 2016, it has lost its crown.
In a list of top chipsets published by AnTuTu, the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus chip is narrowly beaten by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 820, which powers Samsung’s Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge — and other high-end Androids of 2016.
One of the strengths of the iPhone lineup has always been its camera, but it’s safe to say that some competitors are certainly catching up in this regard. So how does Samsung’s newest flagship compare?
When we compared iPhone 6s with Samsung Galaxy S6 in September, it was difficult to pick a winner. Some said it was unfair to compare it with the Galaxy S6 as it was almost six months old, so now that Samsung unveiled its much-awaited Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge we thought we should compare it with the new Samsung flagship to see how it stacks up against Apple’s iPhone 6s.
A lot has been said about the camera on the Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge since their launch earlier this week. While the cameras on Samsung’s latest flagship handsets now feature the same resolution sensor as found on the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus — 12MP, they do feature many other improvements and additions that make them better than Apple’s latest iPhones.
Earlier this week, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. Since Samsung’s flagship Galaxy handsets are launched six months after Apple’s iPhones and six months before a new iPhone is due, they not only need to be better than Apple’s existing offering but also compete with the upcoming models.
Recently, Samsung announced a pair of new flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge, that saw plenty of attention as the latest smartphone competitor to Apple’s iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
